Thallophyta, Bryophyta, and pteridophyta are called cryptogams because the reproductive organs of these groups are inconspicious or hidden. ... Gymnosperms and angiosperms are called phenerogams because they have well diffrentiated reproductive tissue and the embryo with stored food. Their embryo develops into seeds.

The main difference between cryptogams and phanerogams is that Cryptogams consist of seedless plants whereas phanerogams consist of seed-bearing plants.

Heya...

Here’s the answer.. :)

Thallophyta, bryophyta and pteridophytes are called cryptogamae because their reproductive organs are hidden (inconspicuous) while the reproductive organs of gymnosperms and angiosperms are well differentiated.

Hope it helps.. :)
