The cost price of Activa = Rs 55,000.

Let selling price be Rs x.

Profit will be (Rs x - Rs 55,000.)

Profit % = (Profit*100) / Cost price.

Now, acc to the question Tamiza sold off her Activa costing Rs.55,000 to Sharmin earning a profit of 14 %.

or, 14 = [(x-55,000) * 100] / 55,000.

or, 770000 = 100x - 5500000

or, 100x = 770000 + 5500000 = 6270000

or, x = 62,700.

Therefore, selling price of the scooty is Rs 62,700.

SOLUTION :

GIVEN :

Cost price (C.P) of the Activa = ₹ 55,000

Profit %= 14 %

Profit = 14% of C.P

Profit = (14/100) × 55,000

Profit = 14 × 550 = ₹ 7,700

Profit = ₹ 7,700

S.P = C.P + profit

S.P = 55,000 + 7,700 = 62,700

S.P of Activa = ₹ 62,700

Hence, S.P of Activa = ₹ 62,700
