tan^2/sec+1
=tan^2/sec+1×sec-1/sec-1
=tan^2(sec-1)/(sec+1)(sec-1)
=tan^2(sec-1)/sec^2-1
=tan^2(sec-1)/tan^2
=sec-1
=RHS
hence proved
