Heya

We know that ( 1 + Tan² x ) = Sec² x

=>

R.H.S

{ Sec² x - 1 }² + { sec² x - 1 }

Becoz Tan² x = Sec² x - 1

=>

Sec⁴ x + 1 -2 Sec² x + Sec² x - 1

Becoz ( a + b )² = a² + b² +2ab

=>

Sec⁴ x -2 Sec² x + Sec x

=>

Sec⁴ x - Sec x

Hence, proved.
