sin²A + cos²A = 1
This is a trigonometric identity.
The method for this question:-
tanA = 1/√3
we know,
tan30° = 1/√3
so, A = 30°
sin²30° + cos²30°
=> (1/2)²+(√3/2)²
=>1/4+3/4
=>1+3/4
=>4/4
=>1
Cheers!
