Tangent AB and AC are drawn to a circle from a point A such that angle BAC=40°. A chord CP is drawn parallel to BA. What is the measure of angle CBP

The answer is 70°.

Tangents form equal angle to the circle if we make a triangle. Therefore in Triangle ABC,

Angle BAC= 40°

Angle ACB=ABC= 70°

When we form Cord CP parallel to AB, we can form another triangle CBP.

As Angle BCP = ABC = 70°

Angle CPB = BAC = 40°

Using  sum of angle of a triangle Angle CBP = 70°
