Given :- Tanmay and Laxman start walking from a place a and B respectively which are 10 kms in opposite directions. If laxman walks at a speed of 2.5 km/hr and Tamany at the speed of 1.5 km./hr.

To Find :-

  • How much time will they be 18 km apart .
  • find the distance travelled by laxman.

Answer :-

we have,

→ Distance between A and B = 10 km.

and,

→ Total distance to be covered = 18 km.

so,

→ Distance need to be covered = 18 - 10 = 8 km.

now, since both are walking in opposite direction .

→ usual speed = 2.5 + 1.5 = 4 km/h .

→ Distance = 8 km

then,

→ Time taken = 8/4 = 2 hours (Ans.)

therefore,

→ Distance travelled by laxman = S * T = 2.5 * 2 = 5 km (Ans.)
