Tanya bought 1500 bananas for ₹20 a dozen. she she sold 800 bananas at 4 for ₹5 and the remaining bananas at 4 for ₹3 .find her gain or loss​

Number of dozens of bananas = 1500 ÷ 12 = 125

Cost of 1 dozen bananas = ₹20  

Total cost of bananas ( C.P ) = 125 × 20 = ₹2500  

S.P of 800 bananas = (800/4) × 5 = 200 × 5 = ₹1000  

S.P of remaining 700 bananas = (700 4) × 3 = 175 × 3 = ₹525  

Total S.P = 1000 + 525 = ₹1525  

S.P > C.P  

Profit = S.P - C.P = 2500 - 1525 = 975  

Profit% = (Profit/C.P) × 100 = (975 ÷ 2500) × 100 = 39%
