Answer: 60 hours,

Step-by-step explanation:

Since, Tap a can fill the empty tank in 12 hours,

⇒ The part of can is filled by the tap in 1 hour = \frac{1}{12}

But due to a leak in the bottom it is filled in 15 hours,

Thus, the part of can is filled in one hour when both tap and leakage are open simultaneously

= \frac{1}{15}

Thus, the part is emptied in one hour by the tap in one hour when the tap is closed

= \frac{1}{12}-\frac{1}{15}

= \frac{5}{60}-\frac{4}{60}

= \frac{1}{60}

\frac{1}{60}\text{ part is emptied} = 1 \text{ Hour}

\implies 1 \text{ part is emptied} = 16 \text{ Hours}

The whole filled can is emptied by the leakage alone = 16 hours
