Tap water have ions which help them to confuct electricity from one point to another. On the other hand distilled water don't have any type of ions that is why distilled water does not conduct electricity. Ferrous sulphate crystals are light green in colour. On heating, the colour changes from light to white and on further heating, the ehute substance changes to dark brown solid. The products formed on strongly heating ferrous sulphate crystals are Ferric oxide, Sulphur Dioxide, Sulphur Trioxide. Decomposition reaction occurs in this change.

tap water is impure water which contains some amount of dissolved salts and impurites which helps electricity to pass through them making tapwater a good conductor of electricity. while distilled water is the purest form of water which doesn't conatin any impurites or salts. therefore water can't pass through distilled water so it is an insulator.

hope it helps..
