In the chapter The Browning Version Taplow imitated Mr. Crocker Harris. Taplow mimicked Mr. Harris because while narrating an incident to Mr. Frank, the science teacher, he got emotionally carried away and did Mr. Crocker Harris’s mimicry. Mr. Frank liked this mimicry so much that he asked Taplow to do it once more; Taplow did it again.

This mimicry of teachers by students is quite prevalent these days. This indicates respect for teachers gradually becoming less among the students. They appear to have that traditional respect for their teachers that students in the past used to have. However, there are still a few students who respect their teachers very much.
