Tarun, after completing his management course from UK returned to India and started a shop selling flavoured yogurt ‘Yogolicious’ in a famous mall in Chennai. The specialty of this shop was the wide variety of flavours to choose from, also it was a healthier option compared to ice cream. Somehow, the business was neither profitable nor popular. Tarun was keen to find out the reason. He appointed Radhika, an MBA graduate as a manager to find out causes for the same. Radhika took feedback from the clients and found out that though they loved the healthy option of yogurt in different flavours, they were not happy with the long waiting time being taken to process the order. She analysed and found that that there were many unnecessary obstructions in between which could be eliminated. She fixed a standard time for processing the order. She also realized that there were some flavours whose demand was not enough. So, she decided to stop the sale of such flavours. As a result within a short period, Radhika was able to attract the customers. Identify and explain three techniques of scientific management used by Radhika to solve the problem.
