Given,

Tarun sells mangoes to Varun with 10% gain.

Varun sells same mangoes to Arun with 5% gain.

Varun's selling price is = Rs. 60/kg

To find,

Tarun's per kg purchase price.

Solution,

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process.

Let, the Tarun's purchase price = Rs. x/kg

Tarun's selling price for Varun = x + (x × 10/100) = x + x/10 = Rs. 11x/10 per kg

Varun's selling price for Arun = 11x/10 + (11x/10 × 5/100) = 11x/10 + 11x/200 = (220x+11x)/200 = Rs. 231x/200 per kg

According to the data mentioned in the question,

231x/200 = 60

x = 60 × 200/231

x = 51.94 (approx)

Hence, Varun's purchase price per kg was approximately Rs. 51.94
