Tarun works as twice as much as Mihir both of them finish the work in 12 days . Tarun alone can do it in how many days ?

Given :-

  • Tarun works twice more than Mihir.
  • Mihir works twice less than Tarun.
  • Both of them can finish the work in 12 days.

  • Tarun alone can do the work in how Many days.

How to solve ?

Here we first have to make a ratio of both their work then, we also don't know how much the work is done by both of them . So, we also need to find total work and then simply calculate the work done alone by Tarun .

Solution :-

  • Let work done by mihir be X
  • Let work done by Tarun be 2X

⟹ X + 2X = 12

⟹ 3X = 12

⟹ X = 12/3

⟹ X = 4

In X Now put the values

  1. Mihir work = X = 4
  2. Tarun work = 2X = 8

Ratio :-

Therefore , their ratio becomes

Mihir : Tarun

4 : 8

Now, making ratio simplifyied

Mihir : Tarun

1 : 2

• Tarun + Mihir = 12 days

Total work

 \rm \implies12 \times (2 + 1)

 \rm \implies12 \times3

 \rm \implies36 \: units

Therefore,

Tapas can complete the work in

 \rm \: 2x = 36

 \sf x =  \cancel   \dfrac{36}{2}  = 18 \: days

 \sf {\huge \therefore}\:Tapas\: can\: complete\: the \:same\: work\: in\: \bf 18 \:days\:

Mihir can complete the work in

 \rm \: x = 36

 \sf {\huge \therefore}\:Mihir\: can\: complete\: the \:same\: work\: in\:\bf 36 \:days\:

From the above we can also understand that who does how much unit of work per day .

  • Tapas does 2 unit of work per day and so that's why he complete work within 18 days.

Whereas,

  • Mihir does 1 unit of work per day and so that's why he complete work in 36 days.
