Solution:-
Let the constant charge be Rs. x and the charge per km be Rs. y
According to the first condition,
x+15y = 115 ....(1)
Second condition,
x+27y = 199 ....(2)
Now subtracting equation (1) from (2),
x+27y = 199
x+15y = 115
- - -
__________
12y = 84
y = 84/12
y = 7
Therefore putting the value of x in equation (1), we get
x+(15 × 7) = 115
x+105 = 115
x = 115 - 105
x = 10
Therefore the constant charges for the taxi is Rs.10 and
charge per km is Rs. 7 Answer
