IP – Internet Protocol
This is mainly used for connecting computers through internet and intranet. This protocol transfers information by means of packet. The packet will contain sequence number, source and destination address, source and destination port, acknowledgement number etc. This consists of 4 layers namely, Network access layer, Internet layer, Transport layer and Application layer. TCP assures a reliable data transfer across network. It uses client-server model communication.
