Silkworm inside the cocoon is (c) Adult stage.

EXPLANATION:

  • In this stage, silkworms spin a protecting cocoon around itself.
  • It is the dimensions of a small cotton ball and is manufactured from a single thread of silk.
  • The pupa stage is a motionless degree.
  • Inside the cocoon, the silkworm develops into a pupa.
  • This is the degree among larvae and grownup adult moths.
  • After 14 to 15 days, the pupa emerges from the cocoon as an adult moth.
  • But for obtaining silk, this level has no significance because cocoons are dived into boiling water, and silk threads are not wounded from cocoons.
  • In the pupa stage, a weave is netted round by means of the silkworm to hold itself.
  • After that it swings its head, spinning a fibre fabricated from a protein and will become a silk fibre.
  • Several caterpillars form a defensive layer around pupa and this covering is called the cocoon.
  • The silk thread is received from the silk moth’s cocoon.
