It has ruined our childhood. When a baby cries, instead of a toy he is made quite with a phone. We all spend most of our time on our gadgets. Earlier people used to spend time outdoors,playing with other kids or gossiping in the locality.
More Modern Technology is Ruining Childhood Ellen DeGenres once said, “I’m so thankful my childhood was filled with imagination and bruises from playing outside, instead of apps and how many likes you can get on a picture.” As a kid, a child should be playing and being creative; not worrying about electronic devices. Kids, using technology more, don’t understand what a real, fun childhood is like. A childhood should be having adventures inside and outside. A phone prevents children from going out and exploring the world on their own. In my generation, we had to create our own fun, but now fun is already created. Communication is a huge part of life and this is a skill that is being fractured. When a child plays a video game, they get online and communicate by speaking or texting with other people. Children, who use text lingo, do not learn or use the proper spelling and grammar. From this, kids are not learning how to spell and punctuate correctly, creating a harder time accomplishing the correct format for a sentence. This will become a real problem later in life when these skills are needed to write a college paper or even fill out a job application. While kids are not using proper grammar, they are also not learning correctly. When children play video games, they never really see the person’s face. From this, children are not learning correct social skills that are learned by face to face communication. This will later cause problems when making friends. When making new friends, the children physically and mentally interact with other children their age. However, talking on a video game prevents children from doing those things. Kids, interacting with humans, become more shy because they are accustomed to just talking to people on the internet. A mature adult, who is speaking to a child, may not always get the full attention they deserve. Face-to-Face communication is slowly vanishing. Facetime, which is an app, can be used to video chat other people. This app is great. A family, having relatives that do not live close, are able to FaceTime those people to see them and how they are all doing. This app is helpful, especially for military families. Those families can FaceTime their relatives, who are serving, so they can see how they are doing. This helps the families because they cannot always see their family members or friends. Another thing that technology has done for us is that it has given us more access to information. Years ago, if a child had a report and needed information, they would have to go to the library. This could be a problem if the child did not have a safe way to reach the library. One also had to worry if the library .
