Given:-

  • Teddy saved ₹63.00 when she bought a CD player on sale at his local electronics store.

  • The sale price is 35% off the regular price.

To Find:-

  • Regular price of the CD player.

Solution:-

Here, Let the regular price of the CD player be ₹x .

Now, According to the Question,

\sf{x + x \ \times \dfrac{35}{100} = x + 63}

\sf{x + \dfrac{7x}{20} = x + 63}

\sf{\dfrac{20x + 7x}{20} = x + 63}

\sf{\dfrac{27x}{20} = x + 63}

\sf{27x = 20 (x + 63)}

\sf{27x = 20x + 1260}

\sf{27x - 20x = 1260}

\sf{7x = 1260}

\sf{x = \dfrac{1260}{7}}

\underline{\boxed{\tt{x = 180}}}

\rm{Hence,\ The\ regular\ price\ of\ the\ CD\ player\ is\ Rs.\ 180.}

Given:-

  • Teddy saved Rs.63.00 when he bought a CD player on sale at his local electronics store.
  • The sale price is 35% off the regular price.

To find:-

  • Regular price of the CD player.

Solution:-

☆ In this question we have given the rupees saved by teddy when he bought a CD player on sale and the sale price is 35% off the regular price. We have to find out the regular price of the CD player. Let's do it.

According to the question,

⇢ x + x × 35/100 = x + 63

⇢ x + 7x/20 = x + 63

⇢ 20x + 7x/20 = x + 63

⇢ 27x/20 = x + 63

⇢ 27x = 20(x + 63)

⇢ 27x = 20x + 1260

⇢ 27x - 20x = 1260

⇢ 7x = 1260

⇢ x = 1260/7

x = 180

Hence,

  • The regular price of the CD player is Rs.180.
