Teenagers are generally very imaginative. If a thing once gets into their mind it become difficult to take it away. Therefore it is very important that teenager should always think positively. Johnsy is also a teenager. The idea of death get into her mind. She can't get rid of it easily.Sue has to make her think positively.

Despite good treatment and care ,johnsy was not getting well. The doctors told sue that she is not willing to live and therefore she has set a consideration that when the last leaf falls,she will die . However this was upto her will for living. So Sue decided to make her think positive and forget this consideration. She would talk about fashion and clothes. She would take her painting to her room and paint along with whistling.
