Answer:

Telegraph poles occur at equal distances of 220m along a road and heaps of stones are put at equal distances of 300m along the same road.The first heap is at the foot of the first pole.

So, next heap at foot of pole occurs at distance equal to LCM of 220m and 300m.

First we have to convert these numbers into prime factors.

So,

220=11×20=11×2^2×5

300=3×100=3×2^2×5^2

So, to find LCM we have to take highest power among all number of each occurring factor, and multiply them to find LCM

here, prime factors appearing are 2,3,5,11

So, highest factor of 2 is 2, of 3 is 1, of 5 is 2 and of 11 is 1

∴LCM=2^2 ×3×5^2 ×11=3300
