They are sleeping less, reading less, communicating
less with their families. In a country wide survey, a
tenth of television viewers have admitted that the care
of children and the elderly is getting neglected while
television has contributed to the popularity of games
and sports ironically enough. chilldren have reported
that they play less. Television has ancreased the general
knowledge of the various products beings advertised.
The survey shows that there are few children who watch
educational programmes. The parents' interviewed said
their children's studies were affected. Many parents have
cut off cable TV to reduce the distraction of the children.
