Letter to the editor about unrequited sensational news.

The Editor,

Subject - Expressing views on the need for responsible media.

Sir,

I am a citizen of India, highly disappointed by the current irresponsible media. Television today has reached every home, even in the remotest villages. The number of news channels is also increasing and the common man is aware of what is happening around him.

Despite this, people are continuously receiving sensational news. The news is either biased or only meant to play the blame game. Hardly any journalist or news channel holds the courage to question the government officials responsible for their careless behaviour.

The debate rounds never have any content or a logical point of view, except shouting over each other. No valid points are spoken. The spokesperson on such shows is even biased.

With the current situation, it is becoming very difficult to find unbiased opinion and information. People are being manipulated to a particular point of view, which will only lead to harm to the entire country.

Thank you,

Monal.

Explanation:

To,

The Editor,

Daily Newspaper,

Sir today i would like to express my concern over media ethics. The current role of media especially television media has changed over a period of time. This can be seen in news and in debates especially, where telling of information in an honest way is not as important than telling it in such a way that it increases the rating of the TV show. The anchors sitting tend to make the debate as crispy as they can so that people enjoy the debate rather than taking the real message behind it .

The role of media should only be to report genuine and authentic news and also to spread positivity in the community rather create panic.

Best regards,

Amrit,
