Pick out the main and subordinate clause , There was a colony ,where many struggling artists live

  • We have to identify main and subordinate clause from the sentences. Subordinate clauses are those which are dependent while the main clauses    are independent .

  • "There was a colony" is the  main clause in the sentence while "where many struggling artist lived" is the subordinate clause of the sentence.

  • We have to identify and underline the verb in the sentence " He was loved by all his subjects" . A verb is a word used to describe an action, state or occurrence.
