For eg. 2x+y=5 and 2x-y=3, we can use elimination method and eliminate 2x from both the equations.

Eq.1 2x+y=5

Eq.2 2x-y=3

-----------------------------

2y=2

y=1

By substitution method, x=2

The above was elimination method.
