The windows shook with protest against the wind. Every slight movement of the house made Talia Jump, her and her family had moved into the grand victorian house a week ago and ever since the storm had raged on outside. The house was outside of the city of New York, the old house had been built in 1976. It was a beautiful house with corridors within the walls yet to be found, but Talia's room was special. It had a almost invisible door on the left wall of the small room, the door led to a wide section of the attic that spread the full length around the house. She had yet to explore the mysterious attic yet, although she had wanted to before, a feeling of butterflies beating on her stomach told her to stay back and wait until her father came to the house to visit. The first week had seemed completely normal, other than the creaky stairs and rusty rails. She loved the house! On the week leading up to her first day of school, she was slightly excited to go, but nervous no one would like her. Her mother assured her everything would be fine but three days before as she went to sleep, she noticed the small door leading to the spacious attic opened slightly. She went over opened the small door and looked inside, though it was to dark to see anything she wondered if there were rats scurrying all through the attic and through the corridors in the walls. The thought did not bother her in the slightest she just closed the door and went to bed. The next morning she woke up bright eyed and ready to take on the day when she noticed the attic door was wide open this time, it made her nervous because she remembered so clearly closing it last night...
For three weeks she didn't dare to go into the attic but every night she closed the door and the next morning it was open. Finally she couldn't take it anymore and told her mom she wanted to live somewhere else, after moving into the city and selling the house to someone else she felt nervous that the same thing would happen to that person. About two weeks later she got a call from the person who had just moved in, she asked her if the door to the attic opened every night when she lived there. She explained that it was why she moved away from the house. Two days later she got a call from her and the woman told her after calling the police and them looking throughout the attic they found a small ladder leading up to a door that lead onto the roof, when going through the rest of the attic they found a unlocked vault and when they went inside, they found two men living in their attic using the small door to the house to get food and watch the women while they slept and they used the door leading to the roof their way out in anyone ever found them...
