The short story is-

                         THE GREEDY DOG

Once a dog found a piece of bone.Holding it in it's mouth the dog wanted to eat it in a quiet place. On the way, it had to cross a stream. As it was passing over the bridge, the dog looked down and saw another dog also holding a piece of bone in it's mouth. The foolish dog did not realize that it was seeing its own reflection. The dog wanted the bone of the other dog in the water. So, it barked loudly. As it opened its mouth, its own bone fell into the water.

The moral of the story is "Be happy with what you have."
