Active immunity is of that type which is produced in our body by itself for example HCl medium in the stomach.
Passive immunity is the immunity which is introduced in our body from outside.E.g. Vaccines.

active immunity- Active immunity is produced actively by host’s immune system as a result of the stimulation by antigen. They lasts long.
passive immunity- it does not need required direct contact with antigen. They lasts only for few days
