A. MOVEMENTS BY PEOPLE-
Nawab’s decision to join Pakistan was not approved by common people. So they started movements against the king. Seeing the movements and financial condition, the nawab, along with his family and money ran to Pakistan. Shahanawaj Bhutto tried to handle the situation but failed due to constant movements and financial and political crisis.
B. Invasion by Indian forces-
On 9th November 1947, columns of Indian tanks and other vehicles carrying Indian soldiers entered Junagadh state, and Shahanawaj Bhutto surrendered to India. Hence, in February 1948, Junagad was integrated in India.
C. Majority won-
If institutioners create any blockade in integration process, then the majority of people’s will was to be considered. It was according to Mountbatten’s scheme. Vote was taken and only 39 people were willing to join Pakistan. Hence, Pakistan was furious and filed a complaint to defense council. But the council ignored it and Junagad was integrated in India.
