hmm so you want to know about gravitational waves as described in general relativity of einstein so these is for you
so ad said in General Relativity space is flexible and can be bend by mass and these universe which we see around us is 4dimensional space time fabric three dimension of space and a one dimension of time so as I said space is flexible so when any mass comes into it then it bends the space time and when it bends space time then this causes a ripple in space time and ripple is called as gravitational waves
