Answer:

Helen Keller was an American writer and speaker. She was born in Tuscumbia, Alabama in 1880 to Arthur H. Keller and Kate Adams Keller. When she was nineteen months old she became sick and lost her eyesight and hearing. The doctor didn't know what it was, so he called it a "congestion of the stomach and brain." Some people say that it was scarlet fever or meningitis. She was an obedient and good girl. Communicating with other people was hard for Helen, because she could not see or hear. She made up some home signs that she used to communicate with her family. The home signs were quite simple, pull meant "come", push meant "go" and so on. Sometimes Helen's family did not understand what Helen was meaning with her home signs. That made Helen frustrated and she had temper tantrums.

Answer: If you are talking about Helen Keller I can help. You didn't give a specific Helen.

Explanation: Helen Keller was born with eye sight and hearing – she said her first words before the age of one, but became deaf, blind and mute at 19 months after a illness that doctors today think may have been meningitis or scarlet fever. ... By the end of that day, she knew 30 new words. At the age of 19 months, Keller became very ill with a high fever, leaving her totally deaf and blind. Doctors at that time diagnosed it as "brain fever." Experts today believe she suffered from scarlet fever or meningitis. Although she had no knowledge of written language and only the haziest recollection of spoken language, Helen learned her first word within days: “water.” As Helen became a young woman, she communicated by the use of finger spelling with anyone who wanted to communicate with her, and who understood finger spelling. Helen Keller eventually learned to speak as well. ... Helen Keller became deaf and blind from an illness, perhaps scarlet fever or meningitis. As Helen Keller traveled the world, she changed the lives of millions of people with visual impairments. She brought them courage and hope. Thanks to her visits, many real improvements became available such as better job training, more braille books, books on tape, and better educational opportunities. And she died on June 1, 1968, American author, political activist, and lecturer Helen Keller died at the age of 87.

Hope this helps....
