chandragupta morya was the first ruler of the mayryan dynasty . his minister was chanakya . mainly he was not a warrior but chankya also known as kautilya brought him in his fight . chankya was insulted by Dana nanda , the ruler if nanda dynasty . to take his revenge , he opted chandragupta maurya . chandragupta maurya slowly became a very powerful leader and won the hearts of his people and became popular among them . he introduced many policies such as making houses for the poor , under his rule over 1 and half years he take no taxes from his citizens .
