The League of Nations was formed after the first world war, as the world's conditions was very pitiful then.But it didn't do anything to prevent the second world war which lead to its dissolving and the formation of UN.

The League should have tried to make peace between the countries. When Germany under Hitler was violating the policies in the Treaty of Versailles , the League did nothing to prevent it. This led to Hitler doing more things against the treaty which eventually lead to the second world war.
