For the polynomial y²+7y+10

b²-4ac = 7²- 4*1*10

         D = 49-40 =9

Therefore, x= (-b±√D)/2a

x= (-7±√9)/2

x=(-7±3)/2

Therefore, x=(3-7)/2 = -4/2 = -2

                x=(-3-7)/2= -10/2 = -5

Since the zeroes are -2 and -5

the equation becomes (y+5)(y+2)/(y+5) = y+2

Another method is by splitting the middle term you will get  the equation as

(y+5)(y+2)/(y+5)= y+2
