5. Equinox is the day when days and nights are equal. Whereas solstice is the day when either north pole or south pole is directly tilted towards the sun resulting in the longest and the shortest days of the year depending on which hemisphere you live in. For eg. if you live in northern hemisphere and the north pole is directly tilted towards the sun, it will be the longest day in the northern hemisphere and the shortest day in the southern hemisphere. And if you live in the southern hemisphere the vice versa happens i.e. if the south pole is tilted towards the sun it will be the longest day in southern hemisphere and the shortest day in northern hemisphere.

6. I am telling you about the solstices and equinoxes in 'NORTHERN HEMISPHERE' . In the southern hemisphere, the equinoxes and solstices are vice versa that means for eg. summer solstice in the northern hemisphere will be winter solstice in southern hemisphere.

The 2 solstices are :-

1. Summer solstice (June 21 or 22)

2. Winter solstice (December 22 or 23)

The 2 equinoxes are :-

1. Spring equinox (March 21)

2. Autumnal equinox (September 23)

7. The revolution of the earth is important because it helps in causing seasons. Without revolution there would have been no seasons on the earth.
