Rule 01 : If the reporting verb is in present or future tense. The verb of the reported statement cannot be changed. Rule 02 : If the reporting verb is in past tense and the reported statement in universal truth/ habitual facts verb of the reported statement cannot be changed. Rule 03 : If the reporting verb is in past tense the verb of the reported statement can change into other form of past tense. Rule 04 : Can-could,shall-should,will-would,may-might.
