Here's the solution to this problem :-
Let the width of the rectangle be x m
Then, Acc. to question,
Length of rectangle =(x+3)m
Also, it's given in the question that area of the rectangle is 54m².
So, we got our equation as :-
x(x+3)=54
=>x²+3x=54
=>x²+3x-54=0
=>x²+9x-6x-54=0
=>x(x+9)-6(x+9)=0
=>(x+9)(x-6)=0
Therefore x =-9,6
Since dimensions can't be in negative therefore we take the positive value i. e. 6
therefore,
x=6m
Width of the rectangle =6m.....
Length of the rectangle =(6+3)m=9m........
