EUGLENOIDS

Euglenoids are group of organisms come under kingdom protista. All single celled eukaryotes are placed under Protista.

  • Euglenoids are mostly found in stagnant fresh water
  • instead of cell wall they have protein rich layer
  • they have two flagella a short and a long one
  • they have mixotrophic in nutrition
  • they have photosynthetic pigment as that present in higher plants

IMPORTANT POINT

Euglina are photosynthetic in presence of light but in absence of sunlight they become heterotrophic in nutrition by predating on other small organism
