Lakshadweep is a tropical archipelago of 36 atolls and coral reefs in the Laccadive Sea, off the coast of Kerala, India. They are a total of 43 islands but only 10 of these islands are inhabited. These islands are coral Islands. A coral is a hard substance that forms on the bottom of sea from the bones of very small creatures. Fishing is the main occupation of the local people of Lakshadweep Islands. Coconut is the main crop grown here. People here speak Tamil and Malayalam.
