A nephron is the structural and functional unit of the kidney. It regulates the concentration of water and minerals such as sodium by filtering the blood and reabsorbing the important nutrients.

Functions:-

Glomerulus filters the blood passing through it

1. It also removes other harmful substances from our body like urea
2. Useful substances like glucose, essential amino acids, salts and major amount of water is selectively reabsorbed by tubular part of nephron.
