in simple word this is one-half of the original

origin of the acceleration a=F/M (f=ma)

truck of the mass M is the loaded with a mass M and hence the total mass is 2m.

now the driving forces is also reduced to half .

Thus,M' =2M' ,F'=F/2.

acceleration a' = F/2 / 2M

or a' =1/4a

acceleration becomes one-half of the original.
