Step-by-step explanation:

Let the original price per kg of sugar is Rs. x

Then the reduced price per kg = x × (80/100) = 4x/5

Quantity of sugar that can be bought for Rs.160 originally = Rs. 160/x

Quantity of sugar that can be bought for Rs.160 with reduced price = 160/(4x/5) = 800/4x

According to the question,

⇒ 800/4x = (160/x) + 5

⇒ (800/4x) – (160/x) = 5

⇒ (800 – 640)/4x = 5

⇒ 160 = 20x

⇒ x = 8

prize before reduction is ₹ 8

reduce price is ₹32/5 = ₹ 6.4

hope it will help you
