Question :-

Tell the color of the compound formed after reaction with \sf{NaOH:-}

 \\  \sf1. {FeSO_4}\\ \sf 2. {FeCl_3}\\ \sf3. {Zn(NO_3)_2}\\ \sf4. {Pb(NO_3)_2}\\  \sf5. {CuSO_4}\\  \sf6. {Ca(NO_3)_2}

Answer :-

1. Colour of \sf{FeSO_4} is Green. After reaction with \sf{NaOH}, the colour changes to Dirty Green and also forms a precipitate.

\sf{FeSO_4}\rightarrow\sf{Fe(OH)_2}\downarrow

Change in colour :-

\sf{FeSO_4 = \bf{Green}}

\sf{Fe(OH)_2 = \bf{Dirty \:Green}}

__________

2. Colour of \sf{FeCl_3} is Yellow. After reaction with \sf{NaOH}, the colour changes to Reddish-Brown and also forms a precipitate.

\sf{FeCl_3}\rightarrow\sf{Fe(OH)_3}\downarrow

Change in colour :-

\sf{FeCl_3 = \bf{Yellow }}

\sf{Fe(OH)_3 = \bf{Reddish-Brown}}

__________

3. Colour of \sf{Zn(NO_3)_2} is Colourless. After reaction with \sf{NaOH}, the colour changes to Gelatinous/Dirty White and also forms a precipitate.

\sf{Zn(NO_3)_2}\rightarrow\sf{Zn(OH)_2}\downarrow

Change in colour :-

\sf{Zn(NO_3)_2 = \bf{Colourless}}

\sf{Zn(OH)_2 = \bf{Gelatinous/Dirty\:White}}

__________

4. Colour of \sf{Pb(NO_3)_2} is Colourless. After reaction with \sf{NaOH}, the colour changes to Chalky White and also forms a precipitate.

\sf{Pb(NO_3)_2}\rightarrow\sf{Pb(OH)_2}\downarrow

Change in colour :-

\sf{Pb(NO_3)_2 = \bf{Colourless}}

\sf{Pb(OH)_2 = \bf{Chalky \:White}}

__________

5. Colour of \sf{CuSO_4} is Blue. After reaction with \sf{NaOH}, the colour changes to Pale Blue and also forms a precipitate.

\sf{CuSO_4}\rightarrow\sf{Cu(OH)_2}\downarrow

Change in colour :-

\sf{CuSO_4 = \bf{Blue}}

\sf{Cu(OH)_2 = \bf{Pale \:Blue}}

__________

6. Colour of \sf{Ca(NO_3)_2} is Colourless. After reaction with \sf{NaOH}, the colour changes to White and also forms a precipitate and is sparingly soluble.

\sf{Ca(NO_3)_2}\rightarrow\sf{Ca(OH)_2}\downarrow

Change in colour :-

\sf{Ca(NO_3)_2 = \bf{Colourless}}

\sf{Ca(OH)_2 = \bf{White}}

__________
