I think u just came home after writing your physics board exam, Just like me :)) and you are finding answers for the question paper :))
Even I got the doubt about this problem think the diagram is wrong because, at both A and B the current is flowing in clockwise direction which means both have south poles.
f u r using a selena publishers textbook, open pg 217 where the correct horse shoe electromagnet diagram is shown.
