it gives shiny coating for walls

Here is your answer....

a) CaO + H<SUB></SUB>O --->Ca(OH)<SUB>2</SUB>

b) It is combination reaction as well as exothermic reaction .

c) It is used for white washing walls to give them finishing.
The reaction results in Calcium hydroxide as it's product , which is also known as slaked lime.When slaked lime is applied on the walls, it slowly reacts with the atmospheric carbon dioxide to form Calcium carbonate, which gives a finishing look to the walls after some days of white washing.
