A lysosome is a membrane-bound organelle found in nearly all animal and plant cells. They are spherical vesicles that contain hydrolytic enzymes that can break down many kinds of biomolecules.

♦ Lysosomes.

> These are the membrane bound vesicular structures formed by the process of packaging in the golgi apparatus. The isolated lysosomal vesicles have been found to be very rich im almost all types of hydrolytic enzymes( Hydrolases, lipases, proteases, carbohydrases) optimally active at the acjdic pH(pH=5). These enzymes are capable of digesting carbohydrates, protiens, lipids, and nucleic acid.
