Temperature is a relative measure of degree of hotness and coldness of an object. It can be measured through a thermometer. Yes, it is true that a hot utensil is set to have a higher temperature than a normal utensil and a cube of ice is set to have a lower temperature than normal water.

Hope it helped

Explanation:

It can be proved by an experiment that Cold and hot are completely relative terms. to prove Take water in two beakers, pour hot water in one and cold water in the other. Dip your hands in it for some time and take out your hands. You will notice that your hand that was in the hot beaker will feel cold as will a warm sensation on the other side. Here we can consider room temperature as an important point. Therefore the temperature of the hands in the cold beaker was decreasing, as in the others, it was the opposite.
