The temperature on the Celsius scale is 14.54°C

Given: Temperature on Fahrenheit scale = 4 x Temperature on Celsius scale

To find: Temperature on Celsius scale

Solution:

Let temperature on Fahrenheit scale = f

Let temperature on Celsius scale = c

We know,

\frac{(f - 32)5}{9} = c

9c = 5f - 160 [i]

Also, f = 4c (given) [ii]

Substituting ii in i,

9c = 5(4c) - 160

⇒ 11c = 160

⇒ c ≈ 14.54

∴ The temperature on the celsius scale is 14.54°C Answer
