Answer:

The answer to this question is 6.5 degrees celsius.

Step-by-step explanation:

According to the question,

The temperature of a place was 12 degrees celsius. And the temperature falls by a certain temperature every hour. And it reached- 40 degrees Celsius after 4 hours.

First, we have the difference between 12 degree celsius and  - 40 degrees celsius.

Diffrence =  - 52 degrees celsius

So the temperature came down by - 52 degrees celsius in 8 hours.

The temperature which decreases every hour:-

8 hours = - 52 degrees celsius

1 hour = - 52/8

1 hour = 6.5 degrees celsius

So the temperature decreases by - 6.5 degrees celsius every hour.
