Temperature starts rising gradually towards interior of earth because there is no place for air to get in and because of the geothermal gradient that keeps increasing with the increase in depth.. radioactive decay is also a reason for the increase in temperature.

only the outer surface/crust is cooled down till now.... but the interior of the earth is still hot as lava is not yet cooled down.... so Temperature starts rising gradually towards the interior of the earth.
